Site Study

Researchers seeking to document landscape changes in the Bay Area have found the photographic archives at Pacific Aerial Surveys invaluable to their studies. Beginning in the early 1930s, photography was flown of the nine Bay Area counties every 2-3 years. Photographed with sophisticated aerial equipment (see specifications) the resulting photography can be inspected for the smallest detail, enlarged to wall size images, scanned into digital documents, or used to create topographic maps.

The Site Study

Many of our clients want to study a site over time for environmental, legal, or other purpose. To assist these clients, or anyone seeking historical aerial photo coverage, we offer a comprehensive Site Study service.

By providing us an address or other description such as a street intersection or annotated map, our researchers will provide a listing of all photography covering the requested site. This service is free for returning customers. First time users are charged $50.00.

After reviewing the available photo listing, you may indicate what photos you would like to see. We can arrange three methods to study this photography:

•   IN OUR OFFICE - Site Study:

You may make an appointment to visit our Oakland office to review the photography. We will have contact prints of all the requested photographs, and equipment to help in reviewing the photos.

A Basic Site Study fee is $90.00 plus $2.00 for each year viewed.

•   IN YOUR OFFICE - Off-Site Study:

We will send you contact prints for your site, where you may study them for 10 days.

The cost for this service is $150.00 plus $10.00 for each year viewed.

•   DIGITAL SITE STUDY:

We can provide images you need digitally via CD or our ftp site.

8 images cost $140.00, additional images are $5.00 each, up to 15 images total.
