Pacific Aerial Surveys is the single largest resource of aerial photography in Northern California offering the following services:

Custom Aerial Photography: PAS can acquire new aerial photography of any area in the United States and Canada, and many overseas locations. Contact us with your requirements.

Current and historical vertical photography: The majority of our photo collection is composed of vertical aerial photography flown at a scale of 1:12,000 from the 1930s to the present.

Historical display photography: The collection of photography by Clyde Sunderland and other great aerial photographers is available for purchase. These prints may be purchased framed and ready for hanging.

Photogrammetric mapping, orthophotography and LiDAR services, through our parent company, HJW GeoSpatial, Inc.

Clyde Sunderland

Clyde Sunderland (1900 - 1989) was a pioneer aerial photographer. He began his photography career in 1915 and his specialty in aerial photography in 1927. An Oakland, California native, he operated Sunderland Aerial Photographs from the Oakland Airport, and spent 40 years photographing the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California from the air. A life member of the Professional Photographers of San Francisco, a status shared only with Ansel Adams, Sunderland created dramatic photographs of the major events of the period and the historic changes in the Bay Area from pre- to post-war.

Upon retirement Clyde Sunderland sold his business and extensive film collection to Hammon, Jensen, Wallen & Associates (HJW GeoSpatial, Inc.), which began marketing aerial photography services under the business name Pacific Aerial Surveys. Pacific Aerial Surveys evolved from the work and business of Clyde Sunderland.
